Friends of Burrs

The Friends of Burrs group is a collection of local residents and park users who are passionate about Burrs Country Park. The Friends group was set up to help with the community management of the park, as funding from Bury Council is gradually reduced.

We have won funding from several sources including the Heritage Lottery Fund, Tesco Bags of Help and Asda Green Champions in order to improve and develop the park for the future.

Our mascot, Burrnerd, was designed by local school children to highlight the importance of responsible dog walking in Burrs. His banner welcomes everyone to the park at the chimney car park.
